The detailed production process of Drop cable jumpers is as follows:
1. Inspection of Optical Cable and Labeling:
• Inspect whether the optical cable and its labeling conform to the requirements specified in the production notice.
2. Cutting the Optical Cable:
• Use芳纶scissors to cut the optical cable to the appropriate length according to production needs, and perform simple coiling.
3. Threading Components:
• Thread various loose parts (such as rubber sleeves, heat-shrink tubing, support tubes, and springs) onto the fiber in a specific order to facilitate subsequent processes. When threading, ensure the correct orientation of the rubber sleeve, heat-shrink tubing, support tube, and spring.
4. Fiber Stripping:
• Use wire strippers or fiber strippers to remove the outer jacket and coating of the fiber. Be cautious with the force and angle during stripping to avoid damaging the fiber itself.
5. Adhesive Mixing and Injection:
• Mix fiber-specific adhesive (such as 353ND AB adhesive) with a typical mixing ratio of A to B adhesive of 10:1, minimizing air bubbles.
• Use a syringe or dispensing machine to inject the mixed adhesive into the ferrule tail.
6. Fiber Insertion:
• Insert the stripped fiber into the ferrule filled with adhesive, ensuring that a certain length of fiber protrudes.
7. Heating and Curing:
• Place the ferrule with the inserted fiber and adhesive into a curing oven for baking to fully cure the adhesive. The curing temperature and time need to be determined based on the type of adhesive and the material of the ferrule.
8. Adhesive Removal and Cleaving:
• Use a cleaving tool to neatly cleave the cured fiber end, removing the excess fiber protruding at the front.
• Use abrasive paper to sand the fiber end to remove any adhesive residue on the ferrule head.
9. Polishing:
• Place the fiber end after adhesive removal on a polishing fixture and use a polishing machine for polishing. The purpose of polishing is to achieve a certain flatness and smoothness on the fiber end face. Different grit polishing papers should be used during polishing, following specific polishing time and pressure.
10. End Face Inspection:
• Use an end face inspector (such as a 400x end face inspector) to inspect the polished fiber end face. The end face should be flat, smooth, and free of defects such as black spots and scratches.
11. Assembly:
• Assemble the polished ferrule and loose parts (such as tail sleeves, grounding ferrules, etc.) into a connector. Use a crimping tool or crimping machine to properly crimp the tail sleeve to ensure the stability and reliability of the connector.
12. Testing:
• Use an insertion loss and return loss tester to measure the main parameters of the fiber end, including insertion loss and return loss. Generally, the insertion loss for single-mode fibers should be less than or equal to 0.3dB, and the return loss should be greater than or equal to 50dB. For jumpers with higher requirements, a 3D interference test (mainly testing parameters such as apex offset, curvature radius, and fiber height) is also needed.
13. QA Sampling Inspection:
• Quality assurance personnel conduct sampling inspections on the qualified products after testing to further control quality. During sampling inspection, various performance indicators of the products need to be re-inspected to ensure they meet production requirements and quality standards.
14. Packaging:
• Perform the final packaging and packing for the qualified products. During packaging, attention should be paid to product protection and moisture-proof measures to ensure that the products are not damaged during transportation and storage.
The above is the detailed production process of Drop cable jumpers. During production, it is necessary to strictly control the quality and process parameters of each step to ensure the performance and reliability of the final product.
